What's your opinion on Romney's 47% remark?

Conservatives: I've heard Limbah say similar to this for years now. Doesn't this about reflect the opinion of liberals of the right?

Swing people: Does this change your opinion of Romney at all?

Liberals: Many have said that this may well be the statement that costs Romney the election. Isn't this a little over optimistic?

For those of you living under a rock here is a link to remark.

that most people just don't listen.....

all he said was that 47% of the US do not pay taxes and are not likely to vote for anything or anyone that might change that.

that's fact - and common sense. if I were on of the 47% that did not have to pay taxes right now - I would not be inclined to vote for what might change that and make it so I did have to pay taxes or change how much money was in MY POCKET. voting is ALL about the individual. nobody votes for what they don't think will benefit them....47% or not.

overly optimistic? maybe not...sadly. 'whoever controls the media controls the masses' why? because people don't want to research anything to find truth - they just listen to what they're told...and guess who DOESN'T control the media.

It turns out Mitt Romney isn’t the only presidential candidate to have a video leak this week.

Fresh on the heels of Romney’s leaked video in which the Republican candidate calls 47 percent of Americans "dependent on government" since they don’t pay federal income taxes, a recording from a purported video of Obama has been posted to YouTube saying “The trick is figuring out how do we structure government systems that pool resources and hence facilitate some [wealth] redistribution -- because I actually believe in redistribution.

NOW WHICH IS WORSE and does cnn abc nbc and pravda report this youtube

Romney was correct and the news papers backed up his remark. What any conservative wants is for that number of people depended or simply unable to pay taxes to the federal government to grow not shrink. Conservatives want everyone to be prosperous and work hard with the opportunities to advance and do well for yourselves. Otherwise we are Europe where only those privileged succeed or even try to succeed and be prosperous and the rest are just taken care of. Come on. What is kinder opening up opportunities for people to get better jobs and realize there dreams and create and fail(which is part of life) or is it to just get enough money to get by.

After today only millionaires and bigots will support Romney.

Dear Mr Romney. 'Those people,' who you don't care about, in the dreaded 47% who pay no Federal Income Tax, includes Senior Citizens, students, hard working parents and military service members.

And guess what, Mr. Romney? You put your foot in your mouth again, and this time the senior citizens, students, hard working parents, and military service members are not going to let you lie your way out of it.

btw: Fact checker on CNN said Romney pulled an implied lie again. How? He mixed apples and oranges and tried to sell it to the bigots as lemonade.

It was fun pointing out to my elderly, Fox news loving parents that they are part of the 47% who won't take responsibility for their lives.
