As of July 24, 2012, the three Help page links which I had have been changed, removing all possibilities of switching back to the Classic version. All three links now say: "What if I don’t want to upgrade to the newest version of Yahoo! Mail? Older versions of Yahoo! Mail will only be available for a limited amount of time, so eventually, you will need to upgrade. Once you have upgraded to the new Yahoo! Mail, it is not possible to switch back."
Use one of the following links each time you open your mail - save the Bookmark/Favorite. Use it every time you visit Yahoo Mail, and you will get the Classic version!
I still prefer the Classic version on my slow internet connection, so I am unwilling to switch to the new mail to test these, but feedback for this answer says it is successful. I'm not sure which links still work.

You can also temporarily disable Javascript in Tools/Options or lower the screen resolution in Control Panel/display to its lowest setting temporarily. Change back later after the mail page is bookmarked. Be sure to choose to use the Classic version permanently.
These much older techniques might still work, since the newest version requires Javascript on the IE browser, and also requires a higher screen resolution. The change back to Classic can be done with a small (temporary) change. Either disable Javascript or lower the screen resolution. Log out of your account before trying these, then log in afterwards. Once you have switched back to Classic Mail, re-boot or refresh the browser and change these settings back again.
1. For Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level. In the scripting section, disable active scripting.
For Firefox and Chrome, go to Tools > Options > Content and un-check Enable JavaScript. For Firefox, open Tools, Options, Content. Click 'Disable javascript'. Then refresh the page while you are still signed in to Yahoo! e-mail to switch back.In Options, click Permanent to stay in the Classic version. Do NOT click the 'One Time Only' option.
IMPORTANT: Turn Javascripting back on when you are back in Mail Classic or some functions will be disabled.
This solution is not successful with all versions of Windows 7.
2. Lower the screen resolution one stage at a time in the Control Panel > Personalization > Display section. (Normally it is 1024 x 768 or higher).Once it is too low, when you open Mail you are asked to switch to Mail Classic > click Yes. There will be some waiting, flashing, and scrolling, but the screen shows up eventually. This method may not work for all users either.

There is NO LINK that will take you back to Classic/Original Yahoo Mail. Here is a solution that DOES work and works very well. I have multiple Yahoo accounts and I have used this method with each of them with great success.....
There is a way that just involves a few mouse clicks. It sounds like you have the new Beta Mail (double yuck) and want to go back to the ORIGINAL Yahoo Mail. I have found a way to do just that
For Internet Explorer: Go to Tools/Internet Options/Security, go to "custom level”....scroll down to "Active Scripting". Click on “Disable”. Refresh the page while you are still signed into Yahoo Mail to switch back.
Be sure to go back in the same way and “Enable” Active Scripting again...(and NO it won't revert to the Beta versions of Yahoo Mail)
For Safari: Open Settings, Click on Preferences, Click Security, Uncheck “Enable Java” and then Enable Javascript
For Firefox: Open Tools, Options, Content, Click “Disable Javascript”. Hit f5 to refresh the page while you are still into Yahoo Mail to switch back.
In Options, click “Permanent” to stay in the original version. Do not click the “One Time” option. Voila! You now have Original Yahoo Mail back.
