What question can a common miner ask a guy who is trying to pass himself as a mining engineer?

Hi, 
Im working on a screenplay in wich there's a scene where a miner wants to expose a character who claims he's a mining engineer, but is'nt.

 the person asking the question is just a miner. I am sure that miner probably knows a lot about mining engineering. He may not have all the technical background but he has the knowledge. So what question or questions can the miner ask the liar to expose him?

Precisely, thats the gist of my problem in writing the scene convincingly, you see im no miner and certainly no engineer, i have researched the subject as much as i can online, but I have'nt found a precise question a miner can ask somebody he suspects of lying about being a mining engineer, perhaps I should rephrase my question and be more specific, and hope I find either a miner or a mining engineer that reads my post...or as a last resource try to contact one of this guys personally, but that will be tough, since there is no mining activity where I live.

Your best bet would be to talk to someone who works as a miner - you're probably not going to find them wasting time on this site.  A miner may or may not know anything related to mining engineering - many are just laborers.  Also, many mining engineers have little to no interaction with the people working at the mine, while others find themselves on site every day.

I guess the big bullet point here is that you're going to have to get away from your computer to do the research needed for this question.  While there may be no mining in your area, I'm sure that they are telephones where you live.


Taking a stab in the dark at this (not my field of engineering), if the miner in question is more than just a laborer (a technical guy of some type), he might know enough to ask a detailed question about a particular process or piece of equipment.  The engineer should have a deeper knowledge of this particular topic.  "Hey, is it safe if we skip step X in the Such and Such procedure to accomplish Y?" - where some part of the discussion, perhaps the skipped step, is completely made up.
