Pets at Home sold me a sick Bearded Dragon?

What can I do? I've been to the vets and my 7 month old Bearded dragon has worms.I Just bought him last week from pets at home. We've got treatment for him , but I want to get compensation from the pet shop. I'm so upset that they don't look after their animals. He appeared to be healthy when I got him, but a trip to the vets a couple of days later showed he had worms. What can I do?

Nothing you can do. Trust me I tried when I purchased a pastel ball python riddled with mites. They wouldn't even give me a name for a treatment I could use. They didn't even know what treatment they had in stock. I had to go and find it myself. At that point, I was finished with pet stores, I'd gotten my lesson, and this is the lesson to you.

I don't support pet stores anymore. I buy all my rats from a local ball python breeder now and I even order many of my items online. Only if I need to purchase something at that immediate time will I set foot in a pet store any more. They sicken me.

There's no compensation you can get from them. Take this as your compensation, you've learned not to support pet stores.

Well blaming Pet Store's is not going to solve anything & doubt you're going to get anything unless you shop a store that offers " Guarantee's " ! It's a risk we all take when we buy or even rescue any live critters - dogs, cats ... or reptiles, etc ! Even the best ' Breeders ' can have problems they don't know about till / if or when symptoms show or someone lets them know something was wrong... so it's really hard ( sometimes impossible ) to know what happened or why. I've also seen people who've had some bad vets who claim to know reptiles &/or what they're doing but don't know... it's very unusual & rare for captive bred reptiles to have worms, diseases that usually only Wild Caughts have so it may not be the store @ all & no matter who one buys from, there's just no way to know everything, know of diseases or problems often till they catch the symptoms of an ill reptile or till it's too late & they start dying off but odds are the Breeders aren't going to tell anyone tho... we live a World that's about money, suing and more money... not caring ,etc ! Take Care

I consider mateosnake I even have 7 grownup dragons myself and there have been some cases while constipation renders them immobile and unresponsive. A lukewarm soak is so as. only verify it is not too deep in the experience that your lizard is incredibly unresponsive, you do no longer opt for him to maintain his head below the water. i've got saved many a dragon in this way. Use a prop for his head in case you're able to desire to yet save him interior the water with a bit of luck long sufficient to alleviate himself and then he could start to experience a lot greater efficient. be careful with the meal worms for nutrients products nevertheless they are able to bind up small beardies in a hurry. Small crickets would be greater efficient. solid luck and in case you do no longer see rapid progression or no bowel stream touch your vet.
