Documentary about mermaids?

Question

Both one of my teachers and my mother mentioned a while ago they watched a mermaid documentary on the Discover channel. I decided to look into it today, the closest thing I can find though is Mermaids: The Body Found (which right on it says it is fiction). I've watched previews of it, but when my mom and teacher were talking about it it seemed to mention more mermaid mythology, like different beliefs around the world and not exactly "we found a mermaid." Plus both of them said Discovery, but from what it seems like The Body Found is an Animal Planet documentary. I know it could have aired on both or whatever, but I was just wonder if there was another one, as what they saw sounded interesting. If there isn't a new one, is a Body Found still fun to watch?

Also, another kind of question: I noticed believeinmermaids.com was taken down, and it was a website from animal planet about their movie. But why was it taken down? It can't be because it's fake, as there are plenty of conspiracy sights out there, and other movies have websites, even ones that try to make people think they're real. I was just wondering.

I believe you must be referring to Mermaids: The Body Found. It is a very interesting documentary, although the depiction of the mermaid found at the end is so fake. Still, as with most works of fiction there are generally elemental truths and I suggest that is the case with this "docufiction" so would try and view it with an open mind. Some truths are that mermaid stories have been told by most cultures throughout history. Another is that the Aquatic Ape hypothesis is real and not a new invention of this show. New species are constantly coming to light and we do know very little about what lives in the oceans of the world.

The only one I have ever seen was titled What if Mermaids were Real? They even did another one tilted What if Vampires were real? Both have disclaimers of being fictional and nothing used was real or actual events that happened. Most of these were taken down for violations of Copyright Laws and for adding pieces to the documentaries that had nothing to do with Mermaids.. There are literally thousands of Web searches about Mermaids.

There are lots of reasons a website would be taken down...doesn't necessarily mean there's some kind of conspiracy or controversy surrounding it: lack of funds to keep site running, lack of interest in (owner) keeping the site going, lack of interest in (public) keeping site going, abandon, etc.

Mermaid and/or merfloks are very real existing entities and the ancient and modern Egyptians and the Greeks, and the Roman and the Chinese, and the Japanese and the Persians historical writers can't all be wrong about their existences...........................
