How big should a aussie be at 17 weeks?

Hello I have a male australian shepherd that is 17 weeks old and 17lbs is this about avrage for his age? Also I know you wont be able to tell but how big do you think he will get full grown? For Aussie owners how big was your pup at 17 weeks? Thank you so much for all the help

At 17 weeks he should be between 1/3-1/2 of his adult weight (closer to 1/3) which projects him as being between 35-50 lbs full grown, with at least 5 lbs of wiggle room on either side.

The better predictor of his adult size are the sizes of his parent and grandparents, if he came from a reputable breeder they will be more than willing to share that information as well as explaining the "typical" growth patterns of dogs from their line.

To see what size your dog will be, look at his family. He should be the approximate size of the males in his family when he is a mature - his size right now won't really tell you much, since he is but a baby.
Puppies mature at different rates at different times during their puppyhood - and they have growth spurts. But to see what you can expect, look at his grandfathers and sire - h will have parts from all of his family, but since the boys ted to be a bit bigger, that will give you the best idea.
