The goal should be all 25 each round, if not keep working on it. Increasing score indicates you are learning. There are two elements to doing well at shooting games, your mental state, and ability do do the exact same thing over and over one shot at a time. Clearing your mind and concentration is super important. I suggest just shooting 50 each trip, more then that and you are just beating yourself up and not learning. You must build stamina. Watch more then you shoot. Look for the few guys that stand out. Real shooters WILL stand out as so different then the others. Watch their feet placement, where they point the gun, watch carefully cause it goes fast. Are they smashing target or just chipping them. A guy that has his shotgun perfectly nailed down will be breaking targets by what we call "squaring them out" . This means it looks like four corners with a center when the shot hits. That is a nailed down worked over shotgun that does that. No need to smash targets to dust.

Ask someone to show you just the fundamental mechanics of trap shooting. Where to put your feet, how to stand, and where to point your gun when you call for the target. How to move the gun when tracking the target. THEN DO THE EXACT SAME THING EVERYTIME. This is how you learn, by do it the same you can eventually learn why you missed a target and can make a small adjustment so that doesn't happen again. You see ?

First time? If it was...good. You picked up some birds every round.

If you stay with this you will find that it winning becomes a matter or who finally makes a miss.

Trap and skeet both are tests of mechanics. The birds will be in predictable places... can the human prevent the mental or mechanical error on his part?

looks like you haven't practiced in a while...
next time you go, hopefully within a week, you should be shooting 20 or better.

* Twenty (20) or more is considered Good Marksmanship.* That means you only missed one (1) target or clay bird for each of the Five (5) Stations you shot from.*

I don't consider it good "marksmanship" at the trap range. I consider it good "wingshooting."
