Well, the Columbian Exchange was an exchange of goods between the new world(the Americas) and the old world(Europe). It's important because it brought important goods such as food and animals to each place of the country. To the new world(from Europe) came thins such as: livestock(cattle, sheep, pigs, horses), grains(wheat, rice, barley, oats), peaches, pears, coffee beans, tulips, olives, onions. Now, think about if this whole Colubmian Exchange never happened. We wouldn't have gotten peaches, pears coffee beans. We wouldn't have had any of those livestock. Some bread is wheat, so those that eat wheat bread, wouldn't have that. There's a lot of things we probably wouldn't have. Now, to the old world(from the Americas to Europe) goods were sent over such as: sweet potatoes, pumpkin, squash, corn tobacco, peanuts, turkeys, and much more.Simply if we hadn't traded with them, Europe may have not had some of those goods.
