Help with Galaxy S3!!! Will vote best answer for you?

I just got my new phone two weeks ago. I turn it off every night whether its charging or not. Just today I noticed that when I turned it on it deleted my text message shortcut. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to fix it or is there a problem with the phone. I'm worried if it is a problem it will get worse than just one shortcut and it is kinda annoying to have to go and bring it out all the time. Thanks!

It is the regular text message app that come installed with the phone. And yes if I long tap I can move it off the dock or delete it. So maybe something is just wrong with it? It is on the dock right now and when I turn my phone off and back on it gets deleted and put back with all the other apps and I have to long tap and put it back on the dock. I want it to stay on the dock.

When I moved it to the home page and tried turning the phone off it deleted another shortcut app on my dock (my contacts app) and duplicated my text message shortcut so I had one on the dock and another on the home page. I think something is wrong with my phone.

Honestly aside from this one problem it is an amazing phone. I love the fact that you can customize it however you want instead of the boring uniform pattern the iPhone demands. Plus the Samsung store gives most of the same apps out for free. I wouldn't change my phone for any other kind of phone. Every phone will have its issues. This is a minor one.

Lock screen shortcuts

Go to Settings > Security, enable “With swipe lock” and then click on “Lock screen options”. There you can enable different shortcuts for the lockscreen and modify them, display a clock, current weather and you can enable a nice shortcut for quick camera access [holding the device straight, tapping and holding the screen and then rotating the device].

Use S-Voice to unlock the phone: Choose “Wake up in Samsung Unlock” in the above menu.

I even have an iPhone and only few days back observed Samsung galaxy s3, i think of s3 extra helpful on variety and utilization factor. Apple enthusiasts don't get me incorrect I even have all apple products yet it somewhat is extra helpful. My opinion no longer forced on everyone(only considering a backlash). Aren't you long tapping the text messages icon without noticing and ragging to the trash can? This shouldn't happen. Try moving the icon to the desktop, that if it's on the dock, and if it's in the desktop, move it to the dock station. Wait, I was checking mine and notice that I can't move it. Which text message app do you have? Because the stock message icon is in the dock statin and can't be move.
