my 2 year old has been waking up at night, sometimes it's a night terror, and other times a nightmare?
she woke up a few nights ago with a night terror, i just laid down next to her and comforted her, and she fell back asleep after about 25 minutes. BUT,another night she woke up with a nightmare and would only go back to sleep in the living room! for some reason, she wouldnt go back to sleep in our shared bedroom. it happened one more time, and she wanted to go into the living room and started getting really sad and crying if i mentioned going back to sleep in the bedroom. any advice or similar situiations?

My daughter had night terrors for over a year. We tried picking her up, leaving her in the cot, comforting her, ignoring, rocking her, singing to her. Nothing worked until we realised that just taking her out of the room would calm her immediately. So whenever she had a night terror we would just pick her up and take her to the lounge room where she would quickly fall back to sleep on the couch. 20 min later we could put her peacefully back to bed.
I don't think there is any one thing that works for night terrors, you just have to find what works best for you and your child.
there's a difference between the two. nighttime mares they are able to bear in mind and in the event that they are able to talk inform you approximately, and as quickly as they see you and ensure whats occurring there fantastic. nighttime terrors, they do no longer understand why they're crying, however the toddler often looks terrefied and takes somewhat to console. nighttime mares would properly be led to with the aid of random issues they seen or heard, nighttime terrors are often further on with the aid of rigidity of a few sort. Any exchange in scedule or something like that. My daughter have been given them as quickly as I took her off her pacifier. nighttime terrors often only final a pair of weeks or so.
