what is a assault gun? I never have seen a gun marked as such.?

I have read that any gun could be a assault gun. All you have to do is run to the enemy ( Assault). Given the impression that the one with a gun is the good guy in military terms.
Why is the media damning guns by the way they look?

The only true asault weapon it there is a gun the Germans made in the 30s and 40s. They called it a stogenhamer I'd something like that. The word literally translated to assault rifle. So an AK-47 is not an assault rifle, an AR-15 is not an asault rifle, and any gun that is fully automatics with the exepton of the German gun I mentioned is not an assault rifle. The corect tearm for all of those fully automatic weapons is fully automatic weapon. Same has a hunting rifle is a hunting rifle or sporting rifle. A pistol is a pistol. A semi automatic 9mm is not any diferent from a semi automatic 50 cal pistol. They are the same functional parts with diferent size bullets. By definition an asault weapon can be a baseball bat if I want it to be. All I have to do is hit somebody with it and it's an assault weapon. All the government is doing is trying to ban features similar to what the military has. We have the second amendment so we can fight our government if we need to. We will not win with handguns and sporting rifles. We will only win if we have the same caliber of guns that the government has including armored choppers and tanks.

The media is talking about Assault weapons, not assault rifles. There is a different. However, they are both made up terms. The government has their own set rules to determine what an assault weapon is. They have to have one of the following features:

Bayonet lug
Detachable magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds
Pistol Grip
Flash suppressor

There's a ton other features I just can't really remember them. Basically what the media and congress calls assault weapons is basically the cosmetic features. Does a pistol grip really make a gun more deadly? Or, when's the last time you've heard of someone murdering someone with a bayonet?

Watch this video. It's kind of long but it's really informative and good, especially if you are strongly for gun rights like I am.

Basically an " assault gun " is a political term derived by people that don't even know which end of the gun the bullet comes out of! :)

'Assault weapon is a term that politicians, (who usually can't be depended upon
to figure out which end the bulket comes out of), thinks 'looks too mean'.
Case in point Sen. Diane Feinstein, (Prominent anti gunner),
recently proposed new legislation because the new weapons, (at the recent incident),
were "far more deadly and used more powerful cartridges" than those used previously
, (at Columbine), when the cartridge was precisely the same NATO 5.56mm,
and the rifle, the same AR 15 clone with possible minor cosmetic differences..
