Does student loan tax offset trump child support offset?

Yeah...I'm playing catch-up. My student loan is currently in default and I am expecting an offset...but I am also catching up on child support (because we were in court three years the court back dated payments)...so when I file this year, who gets the refund? My ex or student loan? (PS- they will take the entire refund either way)

Well, this is from an Ohio state website, but it talks about federal taxes, so I assume it works in all states.

The student loan is ahead of the child support unless the other parent is collecting TANF or other public support.

student loans pass purely before newborn help if TANF isn't in contact, or at the back of newborn help if TANF is in contact. In the two case the money is going to the government first, the two to pay down the mortgage stability or pay returned TANF.

since the student loan is a fed gov't obligation it will be processed first
