Don't you feel small in the face of reality?

WELL DON'T

If you look at the how long I've been on Y!A you'll see I've hardly asked anything, and even less has been the number of times (only once) that I've used it as a stage. But I've been profoundly touched by a few videos about our place in the cosmos, and though most of you have already seen them, I wish to share them with those that haven't.

Please watch these and re-evalutate the wonder of the universe as we know it. To paraphrase Tyson, it's time we started dreaming again:

The most astounding fact:

@You:
Many people fail to see that wonder and fascination can exist without superstition. I personally find it to be greater without it.

The Universe is large, but I am at the very center. I learned that in medical school.

I go to the Mendocino coast several times a year for personal meditation retreats. I stare at the surf and listen to the sea birds until nothing else is in my head but the majesty of it all.

I feel very small yet very connected.

At peace.

i had this realization a couple of years ago and it still blows my mind. and you are only small on the scale you choose to live on. universally we are nothing, globally is more comforting for me, i stopped worrying about how little i meant in the grand scheme of every thing that ever was and decided that i would narrow my concern to the planet. its all reality its just what you choose to think about it... if that makes sense lol

I like Tyson. Carl Sagan was pretty great too.
