My friend thinks that the UK will never have a King again because there`s no King now and once a female inherits the throne, then there can be no king ever again, even after the Queen dies and her eldest child is male. I explained to him about Elizabeth I and James I, and Victoria and her son Edward VII, but he still thinks he is right, because apparently, that`s how it works on the show Game of Thrones. Who else agrees with me?

No my friend thinks that once Elizabeth II dies, then Charles would rule, but he would only have the title of Prince, same with William when Charles dies, etc.

Yeah I thought that it was plain silly that he was getting his info from a fictional book/tv series.
I explained to him that Prince Phillip is only styled Prince because Elizabeth actually inherited the throne herself, and a man cannot become King by marrying a Queen, same as with Victoria and Albert.

And there has been at least one King Consort in England before. Philip II of Spain married to Queen Mary I of England. As far as I know though, it has been the only time that has happened.

It doesn't matter who agrees with you or anyone else. When The Queen dies, her son Charles will be KIng. Then William will be King after that. Your friend is unbelievably ignorant.
When the Queen dies, Charles will become king. That's the fact. When Queen Elizabeth I died, her successor was a King, when Victoria died her successor was a king.
What your friend might be thinking is that during the reign of Elizabeth II (or any other queen) her husband is not styled as king but rather prince.
Also, your friend is wrong, that's not how it works in Game of Thrones. There they have Salic law and only men can inherit the throne (not that it prevents the female Danaerys from trying to claim it).
Your friend is nuts. If that were so, then there wouldn't have been a king after Queen Elizabeth I, (the next monarch was King James I), or after Queen Anne (the next monarch was King George I), or after Queen Victoria (the next monarch was her son, King Edward VII).
As Queen Elizabeth II has a son, Prince Charles, who is Prince of Wales (meaning he's heir to the throne), HE will be the next king of the UK.

It doesn't even work like that in Game of Thrones. At the last point of the TV show Joffrey was King. In the books, he will be succeeded by his younger brother Tommen, who is too young to actually rule, so Cersei takes up the reign as Queen Regent.
Queen Elizabeth II is Queen Regnant, not Regent. The difference is that a Regent is a temporary ruler, while the King or Queen Regnant is incapacitated or too young to rule.
In the early 19th Century, King George III became incapacitated, and his son and heir, Prince George became Prince Regent, that period is still known as The Regency.
So not only is your friend trying to apply fiction to fact, he also fails to understand the fiction.
The third type of Queen is Queen Consort, who is the wife of a ruling King.
There is never such a thing as a King Consort, because King is taken as a higher royal rank than Queen.
