Everyone likes different stuff. For a show or movie to get high ratings, it has to appeal to a lot of people, but is not necessarily the favorite of any of them. Think about what kind of movies you like best, and look at the ways Netflix allows you to sort their list of movies, to see if you can make it show the ones you would like best near the top of the list.

Netflix does have some weird restrictions in how you can sort movies. For example, a simple sort based on the average rating seems to be impossible, because they use their "best guess for" ratings instead of the average rating of each movie.

Another possibility is to use IMDB.com and see if you can find the movies you would like most there, and then see if those movies are on Netflix....Show more

if you dont mind films in other languages Ip Man is an excellent film...by far the best i have found on netflix

there is also a good romance film called for love of the game
