One shall be submitting ones curriculum vitae, dear Leslie, but only after a respectable time has passed. Perhaps a week may be sufficient? One has already enrolled for a refresher course in French.
Honi soit qui mal y pense, dear Leslie!

We don't know, could quite easily be a currently untitled ex-Prime Minister (Blair or Brown). The decision doesn't have to be made immediately. There's only a MAXIMUM of 24 members, however, the Government have no say it is solely up to the Monarch (and is the highest honour that is solely the choice of the monarch). It's not the first vacancy there are currently only 21 members (except Stranger Knights and Ladies and members of the Royal Family)

No one takes her place. It is not passed on to someone else. The person who recieves this Honour has to be selected by Her majesty. It is the most Ancient order Of Chivalry and given to someonce who has an outstanding Achievment which has benefitted the UK.
