Why do kids today feel they deserve smartphones and androids?

When I was a kid, I asked my dad for a bike, and he loaned me a lawnmower. Told me to get to work. It took a week, but I earned, and I stress, EARNED my bike. What happened with those values with parents and their kids of today? Is something missing or has self reliance totally gone out of style in today's society of handouts?

Welcome to the entitled "me, me, me" generation of narcissists. It'll only go downhill from here, too.

Scary thought, isn't it?

Self reliance? What's that?
You're preaching to the choir.
Everyone feels like they "deserve" it but they can't tell you why.

Because we know how to use them.
