Different arthropods taxa have different body segmentation plans, each segment with their associated specialized limbs, that coordinate to work together.

Trilobites had three tagmata (major sections), as do insects, but they have different limbs and basic forms to the segments.

Crustaceans have the cephalothorax as the fore body part with the head, often fused with the thorax and the aft body part with the abdomen.

Crayfish are decapods that belong to the Malacostraca class that have their many limb segments grouped into the cephalothorax and the abdomen as the major tagmata.
