Do they have to be from Africa? Do they have to be from a certain part of Africa? (Never understood this.) Do they have to have 100% African ancestry? Do they have to be from "da hood?" Do they have to talk a certain way? Do they have to have two black parents?
I'm asking because I see far too many people claiming certain people aren't "black" when according ro the standard I'm accustomed to, they clearly are.
Please provide sources if you can.

What makes a person Black? It is quite simple. You should have a large amount of Sub-Saharan DNA with some physicality that resembles your ancestral lineage (which is diverse).
There isn't an ideal archetype "Black" per se. It is created by a eurocentric lens soley by Europeans to identify what is white (Caucasian) and what what is to be considered Black (Sub-Saharan race and culture). Unfortunately, docile and progressive African Americans have adopted the arbitrary label in a feeble mined attempt to identify common grounds of unity. Instead of using our racial lineage and history as a form of kinship and alliance. Many have Incorporated the lack of diversity and multiplicity of African American culture and life which is heavily indoctrinated in our American society what is called and identified as being Black.
A black child in Mississippi being raised in agrarian environment, Southern Baptist Church, eating soul food, Listening nothing but Gospel music and playing High school football. Will have a different lifestyle from a black child in Chicago being raised in a urban environment, Islamic faith (Muslim), Vegetarian, listening to Fela Kuti and in the Chess Club. They clearly have different dietary, faith, environment, interest and lifestyle. The only thing they have in common is being Black.
No to all the above questions. The criteria will vary depending on the region, however. Many people considered Black here would not be in Latin America, Africa, and parts of Europe. Here in the US we have a loose definition of Blackness and because of the rules of hypodescent many mixed race individuals with African ancestry are pressured to primarily identify with their Black heritage(Tiger Woods for example). However people with a more racially ambiguous appearance tend not to be pigeon holed(Mariah Carey, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Vin Diesel).
Hey, actually; you don't have to be of African decent to be Black. You can be Asian with dark brown skin or Polyneisian or anyone with dark brown skin and wavy hair. I think people look for skin color to be yellow brown to blue black. They look for curly wavy or tightly coiled hair, flat nose and round or almond eyes.
Pretty much yes, the way all african american/Blacks act.Black people are descented from Africans that were slaves that were brought to America in the First Thirtheen colonies or to the South America and the Carribeans to become slave workers/Servants for no money at all...Hard labor work without a good stable shelter with minimum food or water. They would get treated like **** like most blacks would, even to this day..They are called "Black" because the color of the skin between light-skinned people that why there are "Black&White" people in this world..They do talk in slang and african phrases like "on Dogs" or any phrases they speak of..They usually would usually have just to black or half-black parents..Some are half-European or half-indo or being a "heggro" like TUPAC...Like the celtics music is irish and African cultured music together...
By either being socially positive in actions. Like Mother Terresa, a scientist who creates an actual cure like G. Washington's doctor who using a knife, inoculated 3 out of 4 Soldiers, yet killed or sickened 1 out of 4 and saved his army from small pox. A person who considers a selfless act to help 1 or more people more important than self reward or as a reward in it's self. There are plenty of examples of bad people throughout history.
