So was the race worth waiting through a long rain delay?

BQ: What did you think of that one, two finish by Front Row Motor Sports?

EDIT: Was Newman out of line in his statement about "someone needing to get their head out _ _ _?"

Absolutely!!! I never thought my boy would win again! Not to be pessimistic but I truly thought leaving Roush was going to be the end for him. Ragan is sooo talented and I'm glad to see such an underfunded and underdog team get the win.

As far as Newman goes, I think he may get fined for that. Sure, he didn't state exactly who he was talking about but I'm pretty sure it was obvious he meant TPTB in Nascar.

Any wait is worth it when an underdog like David comes out with a win. I genuinely hate Talladega and Daytona, but having unusual leaders and winners is certainly a refreshing change.

They had a good night, happy for them.

Yes, perhaps a bit, but I don't think he was totally out of line. I know it didn't necessarily look like it on TV, but both of the races this weekend ended in very dark conditions. Then there was the drizzling rain tonight that took away even more visibility. At the end of the day, though, the drivers who finished well are happy and the ones who were caught up in the mess were not, quite typical. I think all of that had him frustrated, along with others. If Ryan would have not been involved in the wreck, he likely wouldn't have made those comments.

I thought the rain delay was worth it. I agree with Grizz its always great to see someone that hasn't become jaded to winning like the top dogs. Today the underdogs 1st and 2nd. And that's why Daytona and Talladega are great tracks, maybe not great racing but great finishes.

Out of line? No I thought it was normal compared to what Stewart said at California.

It was actually a pretty good race for a restrictor-plate race, even with all the delays.

BQ: I'm kind of indifferent to it, but it was nice to see someone actually excited about a win for once.

And Newman was right. Stenhouse made a very stupid decision to try to squeeze his car in a spot that narrow at that point in the race. Though he probably shouldn't have said that, considering everyone has done things that stupid at one point or another, and most probably will do it again in the future. Newman hasn't exactly had a career full of nothing but intelligent decisions either.

Yes it was worth the wait. There is always going to be "the big one" at Talladega, and a spectacular finish. I was glad that Dale wasn't caught up in the first wreck. I do think that Nascar officials makes too many fast decisions that the drivers don't care for.
