So was the race worth waiting through a long rain delay?

BQ: What did you think of that one, two finish by Front Row Motor Sports?

Update:

EDIT: Was Newman out of line in his statement about "someone needing to get their head out _ _ _?"

Update 2:

Absolutely!!! I never thought my boy would win again! Not to be pessimistic but I truly thought leaving Roush was going to be the end for him. Ragan is sooo talented and I'm glad to see such an underfunded and underdog team get the win.

As far as Newman goes, I think he may get fined for that. Sure, he didn't state exactly who he was talking about but I'm pretty sure it was obvious he meant TPTB in Nascar.

Any wait is worth it when an underdog like David comes out with a win. I genuinely hate Talladega and Daytona, but having unusual leaders and winners is certainly a refreshing change.

They had a good night, happy for them.

Yes, perhaps a bit, but I don't think he was totally out of line. I know it didn't necessarily look like it on TV, but both of the races this weekend ended in very dark conditions. Then there was the drizzling rain tonight that took away even more visibility. At the end of the day, though, the drivers who finished well are happy and the ones who were caught up in the mess were not, quite typical. I think all of that had him frustrated, along with others. If Ryan would have not been involved in the wreck, he likely wouldn't have made those comments.

I thought the rain delay was worth it. I agree with Grizz its always great to see someone that hasn't become jaded to winning like the top dogs. Today the underdogs 1st and 2nd. And that's why Daytona and Talladega are great tracks, maybe not great racing but great finishes.

Out of line? No I thought it was normal compared to what Stewart said at California.

It was actually a pretty good race for a restrictor-plate race, even with all the delays.

BQ: I'm kind of indifferent to it, but it was nice to see someone actually excited about a win for once.

And Newman was right. Stenhouse made a very stupid decision to try to squeeze his car in a spot that narrow at that point in the race. Though he probably shouldn't have said that, considering everyone has done things that stupid at one point or another, and most probably will do it again in the future. Newman hasn't exactly had a career full of nothing but intelligent decisions either.

Yes it was worth the wait. There is always going to be "the big one" at Talladega, and a spectacular finish. I was glad that Dale wasn't caught up in the first wreck. I do think that Nascar officials makes too many fast decisions that the drivers don't care for.

Yes. David Ragan deserves a much better ride than his under-funded team and is was so good to see him back in victory lane. I am a Carl Edwards fan so if it had been rained out that would have been OK too, but I am glad David Ragan won the race.

    It was for me.

-I get into the racing action more than the casual spectator, because between being a street-racer for about 10 years, and also from working in the automotive industry, NASCAR really captures my attention. I appreciated the extra commentary during the rain delay, and all the video clips and discussion of past NASCAR history. Especially when they talk about the design of the race car, or when the old pros like D.W. explain how the track is worked, or how it used to be, and the evolution of the sport. I could watch that all day, and feel fortunate that I even get to see that.

-The truth is when I was younger there was no way I could sit around all day and watch a T.V. I didn't even own one, and when I had one it was usually used for news, or on the weather channel with the weather radar on, so I could know it I was going to be able to ride my motorcycle, or mountain bike etc. I was never able to sit around as a spectator, and usually spent my weekends going on trips, that have created my lifetime of memories, and a foundation for my life as a street-racer, who lived wherever the action took me.

-I'm thankful to have made it to where I am today, and I enjoy being able to sit home and "do nothing" and let NASCAR entertain me. I never find anything boring about the production of some good racing action, and I think NASCAR is the epitome of all motorsports.

-Yeah. Rain delays can suck. But somehow NASCAR and the FOX crew did an exceptional job of keeping me entertained. It's kinda cool when the drivers get out of their cars and they talk to them. You learn a lot about the action of the day, between the cars and the track they're on. It's almost like an added bonus. Especially when they get to go out and finish the race. And the coolest commentary was by Denny Hamlin after they got back to the race, and no one else said it but him, when he said that they weren't done wrecking yet. Only Denny could say that with conviction, and you could tell D.W. wanted to say it, but even he couldn't bring himself to put it the way Denny did. But he understood. And then I tried to accept what he said. And sure enough, Denny knew.

-And as far as Front Row Motorsports finishing 1-2, that was so sweet. It totally made it worthwhile to be able to see that.

-I don't know what Ryan Newmans problem was, but obviously he was trying to put the blame on someone, without dropping names. He was just venting his frustrations. And in a way, he has had the right to, because (and they even showed the replay from the Edwards/Keselowski incident from Talladega a few years ago) cars seem to like to land on top of Ryan Newman when he's running a race. They even said they added an extra reinforcment bar in the rollcage, because of stuff like that. And, they named that added reinforcement bar after Ryan Newman. Now if that isn't irony, I don't know what is. Ryan does get pretty uptight though. But at least he did it without name dropping, so maybe we can give him a little credit for that.

-It was a fun race with the new car, and I'm totally psyched for the Darlington night race. I can gaurantee that no matter how deep you are into racing or the auto industry, or just sporting competition itself, that will be another great race.

Awesome finish and this is why you need to allow park and starts otherwise the little guys never get off the ground. When Front Row started 6-7 years ago they were a park and start team and look what happened today.

It was worth it just to see Panica hit the wall. It wasn't her fault, though. Once again, she made that very clear when they interviewed her. She didn't know who's fault it was but she was sure it wasn't her's. And nobody thought she could be consistant.

It was an absurdly long rain delay but I think the racing action at the end made it worth the wait. I was pretty surprised by 1st and 2nd place.

Most definatly worth waiting! One of the best ever
