Has anyone here ever cried over NASCAR related stuff?
I've seen where people have cried when a favorite driver died or missed race(s). Sometimes, people have been emotional over some race, like the 2011 Daytona 500 or what a driver said. I've been touched over stuff a driver has said and I cried a little when one of my favorite drivers was in the hospital and couldn't race.

I have been saddened by when a driver was lost or severely hurt, particularly when Alan Kulwicki, Davey Allison, and Adam Petty were tragically lost. But the only time I have shed a tear is when I watched my older brother tell his then 3 1/2 year old son that their favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, was killed. His son was not with us during the Daytona 500, but rather the following week. While watching the start of the race at Rockingham, he asked where Dale was at and what all the stuff on tv was about. So my brother had to explain to him what had happened, and that he would not see Dale Sr race on TV anymore. Watching him cry softly and being hugged by his dad, it was hard not to get teary eyed.
When Bill Elliott had a blowout with 6 races to go in his last race as a full time driver. I was out of sorts for an entire week after that because he had the race won up to that point. The Dale Earnhardt death in 2001 was not very pleasant even though I was never a fan of his.
As a lifelong stock car racing fan, 1993 was a miserable year. Watching that #7 hauler slowly roll out of Bristol was heart wrenching, and still is over 20 years later. I had just been to Kulwicki's shop a short time before the accident. Losing Davey a little later made it that much worse. Of course the day Dale died was difficult as well.
I still cry every time I watch "The Day" about Dale Earnhardt. I also cried tears of joy when Brad Keselowski won the championship because its the first time in forever that someone besides Tony or Jimmie won it - plus I love Brad. I cried when Harvick won in Earnhardt's re-numbered car. I cried when Junior won at the next Daytona race after his father passed away.
I cried when Davey Allison was killed. He was my first favorite driver, I was 8, and it was a shock to me. That's the only time I specifically remember doing so. I might have cried when Ernie Irvan was injured at Michigan. I haven't cried over anything that happened on the track.
