This is a NASCAR sponsor related question. Have you ever used Nationwide Insurance?
I am curious to know if you patronize the NASCAR sponsors like Nationwide Insurance? Home Depot? Lowes?
We are looking into changing insurance companies and have found Nationwide to be as expensive as State Farm. We live in the Pacific Northwest. What do you know? Have you ever done any price checking? As NASCAR members, we try to support what sponsors we can to show we appreciate their sponsorship. [I did not put this in the insurance section because I want NASCAR fans / members input.]
Thanks for your knowledgeable replies and your time answering this question. I am really curious as to how much we support the sponsors and to what extent.
I wanted to say that our car insurance is with GEICO. Our house insurance is with State Farm. We are looking at bundling the policies and have found American Family Insurance to be the least expensive. We have quotes from GEICO, State Farm, American Family, half of a quote from Nationwide (with absolutely no follow up by them to several questions we emailed).
I am going to leave this question open for a while longer. Thanks, everyone, who has taken the time to answer thus far!

Nope...I used Geico and am very satisfied with it. I hated Progressive.
I am in Home Depot at least once a week and sometimes I go over to Lowe's which is next door to HD.
I don't drink beer so I don't buy those sponsors...if Baileys Irish Creme sponsored a car I would likely be one of their biggest fans.
I have an Interstate Battery in my car and also bought my two daughters each an Interstate Battery for theirs. Neither were having troubles but I just wanted to patronize IB for their standing by Kyle and so thats what I did. I don't go out of my way to buy anything Mars...but I do get M&M sometimes.

I do and I'll probably never use anything else. I was with American Family insurance and was being charged $220 a month with just 1 driver in a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and I had a perfect driving record. It was unbelievable. I was in an accident which I was found at fault for (and I really wasn't, I swear! haha) and it totalled the car. I had just enough in damage to cover the loan so I have no complaints about that but when I got my current car (2006 cobalt) with an at fault accident on my account, I'm only being charged $115 per month with Nationwide. Over $100 less than I was with American Family. I looked into Progressive, State Farm and Geico too and they all wanted to charge me at least $160.
And if it matters, if I was going to get charged anywhere close with another company, I probably would still go with Nationwide because of the Nascar connection. When times are as bad as their are for Sponsors right now in the sport, they need as much support from us as they can get.

No. Not that I wouldn't though and it has crossed my mind to get a quote. But I'm with State Farm and my agent is literally a mile up the road. Luckily, my record is clean and insurance is cheap. I pay $180 a month for full coverage on an '01 Town Car, '06 Cobalt, liability only on an '87 Suburban 4x4 and theft and collision on my '07 20 foot open car trailer. If I take someones bumper off in a parking lot with the trailer, it go's on the truck's liability and collision pays for the trailer. If my friend borrows the trailer, it's on his liability to pay for the other guys bumper because it's hooked to his truck even though I'm the owner, yet the damage to the trailer go's to my collision. That's how that works. It's $9 a month.
This is with my 18 yr. old daughter insured on the Suburban that's considered a part time pleasure vehicle along with the Cobalt. Yet she is insured to drive any vehicle at any time! So, if I didn't have the Suburban, my insurance would be more because she would be on the Cobalt as her primary car.....even though it basically is! It's weird how it works.
I have a Camaro on Grundy classic car insurance because it's superior to State Farms classic car policy which is a joke.

Nationwide, and State Farm are both what are known as "Mutual" insurance companies..
That means the policy holders, are also share holders in the company..
That means that the more claims they have against them, the higher the rates will go..
At this point in history, with all the economic problems that exist, they will both be the least expensive to buy..
Keep in mind that the tax codes as they exist today, actually benefit companies with more claims..
Mutual insurance companies used to be at a financial disadvantage, but not at the present time..

Tried Nationwide years ago, was hit by someone. They did nothing to make the person pay or to fix the damage to my truck, I had to seek legal advice to get even partial payment out of them. Of course this was years ago. Have now been with State Farm for years and will stay with them. I shop Lowe's over Home Depot who are bad to say they have something when they do not have it.

No, but if Progressive insurance keeps sending me stupid stuff like asking me to confirm information to keep receiving low rates and screwing up my bills by not accepting my payments because they screwed up my vin numbers, then I might just be going to Nationwide insurance. Progressive insurance is a bunch of retards.
Update: Just checked. They needed my new email address ha ha. I'll let em slide this time.
