What is it like living in Southeast WA?

Currently I live in a kind of small southern town. People here for the most part aren't accepting of outsiders (I lived in Denver before). Most people here are typical ignorant, bigots who are also very judgemental which I wasn't used to after living in Denver area. Thankfully, my family and I are moving to Washington State in the next months. What is it like living in WA and also what are the people like? We are particularly looking at the Columbia River area - (Vancouver,Camas Washougal). Thank you.

If you want your small town clean living and "good ol boy" type people then look in south central to south east Washington. I grew up in Spokane and loved it there and there are tons of small farming towns all around that area. In south central Wa you go for Cheney or any of the small towns around that area. Once you get to Tri-Cities on westward, it's all down hill.

Vancouver is southWEST, not southEAST Washington.

Vancouver is pretty conservative. Republican.

Slightly to the south is Portland, OR which is pretty liberal. Democratic or even socialist.

Washington State is known for being pretty liberal but it's ONLY in the main I-5 corridor mainly around Seattle.

In 1988 Washington State was the ONLY state in the entire country to nominate Pat Robertson for the Republican ticket. That ought to tell you something.

Washington is either VERY liberal or VERY conservative depending on where you are.
