It was the most painful piercing I ever got. That being said, it was just a quick pinch and it was done.
I suggest getting a straight ring in because if you pierce it with a hoop, it hurts to put a straight bar in later and everytime you change it it will make you cry.

Personally, it felt like a pinch to me. So, to me it didn't really hurt. A 3 maybe. 5? I am terrible at scaling out pain. But I have heard people who say it hurts a lot. So, it really depends on tolerance of pain. I got light headed when I got mine pierced. Not from pain, I just got light headed.
I have had it pierced for about 5 years.
I have my cartilage pierced as well and the nose hurt more. I would probably say it feels like getting your ears peirced if you have them peirced. I have had my cartilage peirced for more than 2 years. And ears for IDK 15 years, but it's probably closer to the pain of a nose peircing than a cartilage peircing.
