What's the best way to keep my hair from getting tangled at the beach?
Please describe your method the way you would describe it to a five-year-old. I am unbelievably bad with hair.
My hair is really, really thick and wavy and it's about 5 inches away from reaching my waist. It hasn't been this long in a really long time and I forget what I used to do to keep it from getting super tangled. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks everyone! :)

Try using conditioner (the rinse out kind) if you're not already. Once your hair is washed and dried, put it in a ponytail.
I get a wide tooth comb and a brush. I comb through it so that it. Isn't already tangled. I put it into a ponytail. Then I put it into a bun. There are really good tutorials on wikihow on how to do this effectively. Sometimes I straighten my hair before doing this. I have mixed race 3c hair that is sometimes unmanageable. Since you have long hair and you probably want to keep it that way, a bun is always the way to go. It keeps your ends from being damaged or tangled. This is good for everyday wear, and there are ways to dress up your buns. Hope I helped!
you'll need three hair elastics. -take one elastic and put your hair in ponytail on top of your head -braid the ponytailed hair all the way down then put an elastic at the end to hold it. -wrap your all braided ponytailed hair around the first elastic on top of your head -once all wrapped up into a bun form, secure it with your last ponytail
add bobby pins/hairs pins if necessary to keep hair in place
hopefully that helps, if not, a regular ponytail or bun is fine most of the time.
When it's wet, apply leave in conditioning cream. Garnier has the best leave in conditioning cream! Your hair needs to be super wet. Not half wet, half dry. And this may sounds weird but if you're tanning, don't leave your hair on your back when you lay down. Put it on one side, one shoulder. This will prevent your hair from being tangled. I hope I helped! :)
