My vibrato sounds like really fast stuttering?

I have a naturally fast flowing vibrato, like Dean Martin. But lately Ive been recording myself and it sounds like really fast stuttering. What causes this? How do I fix this really annoying problem?!! There are exercises to help with this, right?

Your vibrato---like your breathing when singing---is controlled by your diaphragm. Sing a medium-range note, and using your diaphragm sustain the note until it is steady, which will require extensive practice on your part.
