Does not paying your rent go on your credit?

Hi I live in college student apartments not associated with the campus its just where alot of college students stay. But I released months prior to my lease being up. Now that its time for my lease to run out I would rather stay somewhere else and I didn't pay this last month of rent. The problem is my mom was my guarantor so if I don't pay she is liable for my fees. But that's not her issue she is now freaking out, saying if I don't stay it will go on her credit score. So that's pretty much my question will skipping this new lease be on her credit report or anything.

Only if the creditor sends the account to collections will it show on your Mom's credit.

Good luck.

Not renewing a lease will not show on a credit report but non payment of rent certainly will if your LL decides to sue. Your Mom was kind enough to act as your guarantor and you should not be putting her credit in jeopardy. Pay up.

No it will not. Once your lease is up you have a choice to move or renew your lease. In most case landlords don't report to the credit bureau because its to much of a hassle.

Rent is not credit granted. Rent is payment for a service that is terminated on non-payment like utility bills and insurance, which also only affect credit if you default.

It will if the bill gets sent to collections.
