HOMELESS VETERANS, Do you know there is a Help Line ?

No reason for a Veteran to be HOMELESS...
Just call 1-887-4AID VET (1-887-424-3838)

Kate... This is a VA NATIONAL Hot-line number...
and by posting it on here it will get wider coverage...

It is SAD to say that you are 100% correct in your statement...
ie: Those with VET signs are not Veterans...

It seems that is what the SCAMMERS are using to
BEG money from the Public...
Its the "In Thing" now days to be a Veteran...
I remember when it wasn't...(Vietnam War)...

To be Honest as a VSO and a Combat Disabled Veteran since 1972,
I have yet to meet up with a one single REAL Homeless Veteran...
Have met a lot in Veterans Housing...which is available all over the USA...

ie: If you walk into a Homeless shelter and ask who is a Veteran...
Everyone puts their "Hands Out", expecting to get something for nothing...

Yes and I also know they don't help FEMALES. I did get help from a battered women's shelter, but I DO NOT GET HELP FROM THE VA!!!!!!!! It appears only 70-year-old men get help from the VA. I had to move in with abusive family and I currently live in abuse because the VA DOES NOT HELP FEMALES

Edit. They did tell me they could help me get back into a battered women's shelter, but they made it painfully clear they couldn't help me, but they were decent enough to say "sorry"

The way the VA calculates homelessness makes it appear that there are more homeless veterans than there really are. Every time I have pulled over because someone had a homeless vet sign I called that number & they were lying. How does posting this online help a homeless veteran? Post some signs where you live.

Good to know, thanks for spreading the word (or number as the case may be).
