Why are people who shoot .45acp so afriad of .357sig?

I noticed that people who own 1911's are more reluctant or scared to shoot a handgun in .357sig. The last couple times I went to the range I used my Kimber with two boxes of Hornady FTX critical defense as eye candy. I eventually got 15 different people try my M&P .357sig after talking. The 1911 owners where the most reluctant and only 1/3 who owned a 1911 didn't hesitate and limp wrist but total of everyone who tried it only 7/15 like it and only 3 people weren't afraid of the first shot.

I thought it was pretty interesting, cause it's not like a hand cannon but I noticed others talk like it is when ask others at gun shops/outfitter stores, among shooters that I talked too only LE/ex LE officers and security guards would be willing to buy one and only a few regular civilians that I talked to would be willing to give it a try but not buy.

.357 Sig out performs .40S&W and .45acp everyday with distance, grouping and power/penetration. Yes it's a little more expensive but other than that and being louder than most it is flawless. Ammo is always available online and plenty of manufactures make handguns in .357Sig like S&W, Sig Sauer, Glock, Steyr Mannlicher, STI, Springfield Amory and HK. Plus many .40S&W handguns can turn into one with a simple barrel swap.

I certainly cannot argue with your experience, but I have never met a shooter who was afraid of the 357 Sig. I am glad you enjoy the caliber, and that it works for you. I'll stick with my .40.

Mkay, "Mackin." Whatever you say.

All I hear is "blah, blah, blah." .357 SIG offers no real improvement over 9mm Para, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP. I don't care if you like it. It's still not what it was supposed to be- a semi-auto version of .357 Magnum.

I've never run into what you are experiencing. .357SIG offers nothing compared to .40S&W besides higher prices and less availability.
