I have an indoor air conditioner, leaking red liquid into a shower in one of the bedrooms. Is this dangerous?

There is no leak to repair, but whomever installed this indoor air conditioner in the hallway, set up a tube to leak out into a shower located in a bedroom.  That tube sometimes leaks a strange red liquid, and the bedroom smells gaseous to me sometimes.  First of all, I am thinking the red liquid is not good to be around when taking a shower.  And secondly, the room smells like gas to me, but other family members say they don't smell it.  I think this might not be safe.  Am I just barking up a tree and making something out of nothing?  I am thinking an easy fix would be to extend that tube that leaks into the shower, to the outside back yard if possible?

probably just a drainline from the a/c unit. They all have to drain water. I doubt draining into a shower is allowed. I have drained into a sink drain under the bathroom sink. I used fittings and it did not allow you to see the drain water. I really don't understand the color. Perhaps the color is coming from tablets that are placed in a/c drain pans to prevent algae [etc] from clogging the drain. And the smell?
I think I would have a/c service person at least "look" it over. The small fee foe just "looking" will put you at ease. Probably not a serious issue.
