It is normal and supposed to. It is condensation which drips from the condenser into a tray under it which then drains from a hole in the corner of the tray. Make sure it stays clear of sediment so that it will not clog it up!

Water draining from the evaporator section (the part that cools the air flowing through the unit) is perfectly NORMAL. Water vapor in the air condenses on the cold cooling coil, in exactly the same manner as water condenses on a bathroom mirror when you take a shower. If id does NOT have water dripping out, hen there IS something WRONG... There is a drain line that is supposed to drain the water outside. If it is leaking INSIDE down the wall or some such, then the drain line is plugged. By the way, your refrigerator has a drain line for the SAME reason. Haven't you ever seen the drain pan underneath? Pull off the molding or grill work at the floor in front and behind the facade, you will see a drain pan where water collects and evaporates. Every "frost free" refrigerator has a drain.

Wheres it leaking inside our out. Its suppose to drip outside.
If its leaking inside then u might need to make sure its still angled towards the outside

Hi Angelo_24_5
Condensation is a normal by product of your a/c’s operation. Your window unit should be tilted slightly to the rear so the condensation will drain to the outdoors.
Most window a/c units have a condensation drain built into the cabinet. Make sure this drain is open and kept clear of debris.

the water comes from humidity condensation on the cold coils. not from the AC itself...
so thats like saying... my bathroom mirror is leaking water whenever I take a shower....
make sure it has a place to drain and that's that.

If it is leaking water in the outside part it is supposed to do that. That means it is humid in your house, and it is removing all the moisture in your home.

You need to make sure that the unit has fall towards the back or outside. The drain should not be plugged after 3 weeks of use.

all ac's do that because the way they make cold air is by compression of air, since there is water in the air it only makes sense that it happens. also both of my c's do that so dont worry about it unless its allot but little drops are normal
