Atheists: Do you believe we were conscious in a way before we were born?

Obviously we couldn't experience physical pain. But do you believe we had spirits before we were born? This leads me to the next question. How do you think our spirits were born on Earth?

You can say it was chemicals in the universe, but no matter can be created or destroyed, and the universe existed infinity years ago. Thus, we can conclude that in the origin of the universe, chemicals were not together. Even if they were, what are your views for how can they form a fully functioning brain that can see the universe around us?

Thank you.

No, no, and no the universe did not "exist infinity years ago", at least not that we can prove (its something like 6 billion). By chemicals, I assume you mean elements, or more specifically protons and neutrons. They have been around since the big bang, or the beginning of the universe as we know it. How they can form a consciousness is a bit more difficult. If you learn about evolution, it makes sense how we would evolve the way we have logically, the only difficult part being how the first cell began. Perhaps it was pure luck, or perhaps it was alien made (of course this raises the question of how the aliens first started, so we'll stick with the simplest answer (luck)).

Possibly conscious, yes, but with spirits, definitely, no. Same goes for souls. The rest is the inevitable result of evolution & a lot of time.

Nope.

Please provide evidence to support your claims. Specifically the age of the universe being infinity and no matter can be created or destroyed.

As I recall all evidence points to the universe being 12-14 billion years old not infinitely old.

As I recall matter is created and destroyed every second of every day. I throw a piece of wood in my fire place the wood is destroyed by the fire.

Well Plato believed that the soul before the union with the body existed in "pre expirienced" area in which it observed ideas.
But it's a theory just.

No.
Do you remember the last 5 billion years?
What makes you think you'll be around to remember the next 5 billion?
