ok , i need lots of help on this what is this guy saying?

i went out with him. we went to grab something to eat. he was trying to pay for my food I said no it's ok I got it. he said he doesn't believe in dating. then my friend called me he said so your going to tell her about our secret night out as a date. I said no. this is not a date. I said your not my type. he said who's type are you. I said I don't want to tell you because then you would want to act the way I was going to explain it to him. (he's not my type anyways.) does it sound like it was a date or something else.

I would say, being the kind of guy I am personally. That he's doing one of two things. Trying to figure out what not to do with you, because he really likes you. Or he's just bored. I'd say, go along with it for a while, don't get attached(If you're capable of that) and see who he really is. And make sure he tells you things about him. A relationship is a two way street. And it's only as strong as it's weakest link. If he's only in it for physical benefits you'll never have any true happiness out of it. So again, see what he's really about. How willing he is to be open with you, and trust him as much as your instinct tells you too. When your instinct says back off, back off. It's probably right.
