Would you make your Cup series debut at Bristol?

Ryan Truex is planning on racing in the Bristol Cup race. His first Cup series race. Nothing like jumping right in the deep end is there? First he has to qualify, though. Do you think that's a good track to try and make your first start on? Which track would you go to? I think I'd go to Charlotte or Atlanta, some place I can put laps in without getting in the way.

Considering most drivers have done a lot of short track racing before jumping to the Cup level, it's better than making a debut at one of the high-speed tracks or a road course. I would probably have chosen Richmond over Bristol.

Trevor Bayne made his Nationwide debut at Bristol, but that's a whole different game I guess. He's a hometown boy to Bristol besides (Knoxville his hometown's, like an hour and a half away). I don't know Ryan Truex's record at Bristol. Has he ever Nationwide raced at Bristol? Unless yes, he shouldn't do it. He should wait 'til Richmond. I'd debut at Atlanta or Richmond, somewhere like that.

If I had to make my Cup debut at a short track, I would rather start at Richmond. Bristol is too dangerous in my opinion for a debut. If I got to choose any track, I would choose Auto Club, Michigan, or the July Daytona race, because there is more pressure on every driver for the Daytona 500

I'm going with a couple of others.
Guys that have raced 1/2 mile short tracks their whole
career, are only going to learn the car.
If you start at Charlotte, you are going to have to learn a
speedway, and a completely different type of car...
Doesn't make any sense.

Richmond would be a good choice as well.
