Can my daughter get her food heated up in kindergarten?

My daughter is in Kindergarten. I give her home cooked food but feel very bad that she eats cold food. I wasn't sure that in school, do they heat food in a microwave upon request.
I was shy in asking the teacher. So i thought that I'll take suggestion from you guys before asking the teacher.

Thanks a lot you guys for your inputs. I'll try to look for some box that keeps the food warm.

Some schools have microwaves and they do allow some students to have their food heated up, but a lot of the time it is due to some issues like medical issues or something else and they are given extra special treatment. I think you should ask her teacher and see what she says and don't be scared or shy to ask. She is a teacher and she's there to help and answer questions. Maybe it will be allowed but if you don't ask you'll never know. Anyways, I prefer to eat hot lunches but there's no microwave where I work, so I put my food in a thermo - hot flask which are light and easy to open so you can do that or you could just pay for your daughter to have a hot lunch.

Good luck xoxo

i would say that the chances are the answer is no for your student. if she is attending a small school or has a good relationship with her teacher she might be able to get it reheated by the teacher if the teachers even have a mirowave.
i suggest a thermos and soup if you want her to have something warm. hotdogs can be placed in the hot water and are usually still warm by the time lunch comes around.

I've never known of a public school that has the ability to do this. A small private school .. maybe. (Think about it, a typical public school has 200-400 students; is it REALLY practical for the cafeteria supervisors to be heating up 200 lunches?) If you want her to have a hot lunch, either put it in a thermos, or give her money to buy a hot school lunch.

How about telling her to just come out and ask the teacher herself? The teacher won't kill your kid or anything.
