I need some interesting German games or cultural facts or something along those lines?
I'm in charge of my German club at my school but I don't know what to plan for tomorrow and they didn't like the fairy tales I brought last time so I need something really fun this time around.

Hey there,
How about talking about some fun facts or weird facts that are typical for Germans? And maybe something about how to learn German...
Perhaps it is best if I give you links for personal experiences. So that's what I will do.

I hope that these anecdotes will be a lot of fun combined. Sorry I had to spam you with links here, but I think you might have a couple of nice stories to tell. Germans can be really weird people sometimes. Let me know if I could help you!
A fun Idea maybe could be a comparison of words. In the German language there are words that sound the like english words, but have a totally different meaning. Maybe you could make a game sheet with facts (true and not true or maybe write the word and meaning and they have to try to find the real answer to it.
Example:
Igel (der Igel) = Hedgehog ==> sounds like EAGLE Gift (das Gift) = poison ==> sounds like GIFT Teer (der Teer) = tar ==> sounds like tear Hai (der Hai) = shark ==> sounds like hi
There are no Skunks and Hummingbirds in Germany! A lot of people never think about that. Sure more examples can be found.
Kids in Germany get a "Schultuete" on their first day of School. And almost every kid has a picture of it taken. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schult%C3%BCte
Most Germans wear their wedding rings on the right Hand
Germans answer the phone with their surname instead of Hello.
Germans don't have "Santa Claus", they have "das Christkind".
