What is this tool/equipment + what is it used for ?
This was my father's. It is a "Wenoka Z-Lock" and it was made in the U.S.A. Unfortunately my father is deceased, so I cannot ask him. I thought it was for golfing, but I am not sure. The only Wenoka items I find on search are knives for deep sea divers. I'd like to know what it was.
The hard part is the fact that, while my father played golf, he did NOT dive... EVER.... and my memory banks came up with the thought it was to clean dirt of his cleats. Possibly it was a part to use with Wenoka dive knives, and he just used it for a different purpose.
I'll go look at that link on ebay to see if it gives me any clues. I cannot find the manufacturer of the Wenoka blades online. I would write them an email or a letter if I can find them.
"?" - it is the EXACT tool as in your Wenoka dive knife kit on eBay.
...... Your addendum is slightly off. My memory is being told that he used it to clean the cleats on his golf shoes, not the grooves on his clubs or divot repairs. But this memory is from back in the late 1950's. I don't know if Wenoka ever made golf supplies.
Dr. Zach: Your reference to it as a spike wrench made it possible for me to do a google search for spike wrenches. It's not a spike wrench, but I recognize some images as spike wrenches that he had. How he got the Wenoka, I do not know, but I believe he used it as a spike wrench even if it was not made to be one.
Between the two of you, I think I have figured it out. I have not found the Wenoka company, so I don't know if they ever made golf implements, but you have helped me satisfy my curiosity about this oddball tool I found when my daddy died.
