What is this tool/equipment + what is it used for ?

This was my father's. It is a "Wenoka Z-Lock" and it was made in the U.S.A. Unfortunately my father is deceased, so I cannot ask him. I thought it was for golfing, but I am not sure. The only Wenoka items I find on search are knives for deep sea divers. I'd like to know what it was.

Update:

The hard part is the fact that, while my father played golf, he did NOT dive... EVER.... and my memory banks came up with the thought it was to clean dirt of his cleats. Possibly it was a part to use with Wenoka dive knives, and he just used it for a different purpose.

I'll go look at that link on ebay to see if it gives me any clues. I cannot find the manufacturer of the Wenoka blades online. I would write them an email or a letter if I can find them.

Update 2:

"?" - it is the EXACT tool as in your Wenoka dive knife kit on eBay.

...... Your addendum is slightly off. My memory is being told that he used it to clean the cleats on his golf shoes, not the grooves on his clubs or divot repairs. But this memory is from back in the late 1950's. I don't know if Wenoka ever made golf supplies.

Dr. Zach: Your reference to it as a spike wrench made it possible for me to do a google search for spike wrenches. It's not a spike wrench, but I recognize some images as spike wrenches that he had. How he got the Wenoka, I do not know, but I believe he used it as a spike wrench even if it was not made to be one.

Between the two of you, I think I have figured it out. I have not found the Wenoka company, so I don't know if they ever made golf implements, but you have helped me satisfy my curiosity about this oddball tool I found when my daddy died.

Wenoka made dive knives. If your father had a dive knife it was probably an accessory to the knife and sheath, but I'm not sure what it does. Below is a link to a Wenoka knife on sale on ebay with a similar tool included.

Maybe your father just found this metal do-hickey somewhere and used it as a divot repair tool, or to scrape the grooves on his clubs, or even to change spikes on his golf shoes. I think the Wenoka company may have gone out of business. I used to have their fins and a dive knive when I learned scuba diving way back in the 1990's. I haven't been diving or shopping for anything dive related for over 15 years.

It looks like a key to change out the blades. I have a lot of knives and many of them come with a similar device and that's what they're for.

As I do not have any diving knives I can't say they're the same, but I do believe that's a great possibility.

How funny... this guy did the opposite tool substitution. He has a wenoka dive knife and says he lost his z-lock tool, but at 0:36 says "this golf spike key works perfect" for tightening the blade into the handle!

I knew the z-lock was related to diving, but was looking for information on how to use it for its original purpose. Mystery solved!

Looks pretty much like an old spike wrench to me.

Wenoka isn't a golf company so I would assume it's some kind of knife accessory
