Have you ever used LED Strip lights as outdoor Christmas lights?

Question

I want to go around the perimeter of my roof and the rope lights did not work very well last year due to the many bends and turns of my home

Or any other suggestions that would be helpful.

The only kind of Christmas lights I use outdoors are the big colored traditional lights, aka C9 lights.  Those lights really light up my place and make it look festive.
