Will using bluetooth a lot drain the battery of my Samsung tablet?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 tablet that I keep with me at work all day. I use it almost exclusively to keep an eye on the stock market and not much else. I'm thinking about getting a speaker that has bluetooth capability that I can let my tablet play music through during the day while I'm working. I have used a radio for years and the stations I like to listen to have a poor signal in my area but I can listen to them through my tablet on iheart radio.

I was wondering, how much of a drain this will be on the battery of my tablet? It will be transmitting a signal up to 8 hours a day with the screen being used occasionally as I check my stocks or change the station. I think it will be ok but I wondered if anyone else had much experience with using a tablet this way.

Thanks for your advice and input!

Absolutely, it works the same way on any wireless handheld device. Bluetooth is constantly searching for other devices that have Bluetooth on so they can share and what not. If you don't have the screen on very much it shouldn't be too much of a deal, since you'll have plenty of battery power leftover from not using it often, but if battery life is truly a necessity for you, then only have Bluetooth on when you need it. (This applies to tablets and smartphones)
