How to get a lot of money back on your tax return?

So I'm trying to figure out how to get a tax return above $50k. If I said I made about $3 million this year, would that work? I don't care about lying. It's not a big deal to me. So what should I say I made to get a return of just above $50k? Also should I claim like 10 kids and say I donated like 30 grand to charity?

Just open a form 1099MISC in your tax software. Put your 3000000 in box 3 and put 1200000 in box 4.

That should do it. Good luck.

A return claiming a $50k refund would be pulled for review and verification of income and taxes withheld or paid in via estimated payments. A return showing 10 kids magically appearing to a taxpayer who had none would also be held for verification.

The IRS has a nasty habit of taking high income at face value and ignoring outrageous expenses or claims of excessive withholding. In your scenario you would not get a refund but would get a bill for the taxes due on $3,000,000. That would be on the sunny side of $1,000,000 in most cases.

You are a terrible troll of a person. And stupid to boot.

the only folks who receive tax "refunds" are people who paid too much in taxes. You haven't made any money, therefore probably paid nothing in taxes, so there's no amount of unsubstantiated income you could report that would get you a tax refund, just a bill and maybe some jail time.

You can have as much as you want refunded, just have extra withheld.

Smart people don't have a refund.

You'll need proof of the income (any amount of income mayor may not generate a refund). You would need proof of the dependents, etc, you would need proof of the donations.
