Galaxy Note VPN Issue?

Question

I have a Galaxy Note that I am attempting to connect to my work's VPN. I set it up for IPSec Xauth PSK and input the server address, IPSec identifier, and the PSK. It works fine when connected to our company's WiFi, but from any other hotspot it won't connect. I am using the same server IP that our laptops use and I do have it set up on my iPhone with the same info as well (and it works fine anywhere). Is there something I'm missing??

I tried L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN, but it didn't work either

On your Galaxy Note test L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN type.

Might be VPN not supporting your Galaxy Note.. reconfigure your VPN setting on Galaxy hope it will work

Some wifi block you using internet when a VPN is on. 
No way of getting around it other than turning VPN off
