What are the two opposing main arguments of the social issue??
i need a topic that isn't broad for my social issues class.
i have to present it in a way that frames both sides and i have to show my side but must display the other perspective.

If you want controversial then take a look at assisted suicide.
For - We should have the right to decide how to end our life with dignity.
Against - (Religious point) only god can take us from this life
(non religious point) only doctors have the ability to decide when a person can no longer be kept alive.

Politics and religion.
Doesn't matter in what social setting or the people and their walk in life, doesn't matter if they are friend, foe or family there will always be controversy with these two subjects. Perhaps rightfully so, as I see them both as corrupt these days.
