Before 1740s Most important cornerstones were Perpetual Diet of Regensburg and an Imperial Military Constitution. Towards the early 1700s the emperor managed to consolidate his power.
After the 1740s and with the rise of Prussia it became clear that Habsburg would not longer be the only dominant power within the Holy Roman Empire - although the emperor always remaind a member of the house Habsburg. (Silesian Wars) this proved fatal for the empire.
