In the name of God and Jesus, Can someone explain "1 answer hidden" and "hide answer" to me?

I clicked on a question, and at the bottom, I saw the message in accursed purple: "1 Hidden Answer." I clicked on that one hidden answer, and lo and behold, it was No Chance. My initial reaction was that, "Oh, he must have had an unpopular answer," but, no. He had one thumb up, none down. Then I wondered if perhaps he'd blocked me, but didn't really investigate any further.

I thought perhaps someone could explain it to me, rather than me poking around on my own, trying to figure this out. I searched Answers for "hide answer," but got a bunch of results from five years ago.

Thanks for any inside information on this new and troubling development!

We no longer know who has given us a thumbs up since Y!A decided to hide that from us.

We no longer know who is asking the questions anymore, since they decided to hide that from us.

Some of our contacts activity is hidden from us now, even though they have not set it to private. We have to log on to their individual profile page to see their Q&As. I have to do that (((Occulty))) to see yours.

And now they are hiding some answers, even though they have no low ratings. It's only a matter of time until the yamster hides the entire thing from us. We'll click on Y!A and the entire page will be blank.

What question was this? I am not aware of this latest development.

Also, what browser/OS are you using? I notice a difference depending on browsers and operating systems. Even as far back as green before they screwed with it, in Safari I could TU and change to TD and back again if I wanted to. In Firefox, I could not.

In this new purple when individual answer comments was turned on, other people were commenting on questions and I had no idea how thy did it because for me, comments didn't open until the question was resolved.

It looks like the developers at yahoo answers have lost the plot.

This is supposed to be a question and answers forum, not a question and hidden answer forum.

Many times a question I click on Yahoo will say has been deleted. But refreshing the page makes it show up.
