Im doing a paper on lack philosophers, but google only tells me about "black philosophy professors" etc. I am looking for a black philosopher (ie someone that wrote a book on philosophy prior to the modern era. A black Descartes, a black Euclid etc). I am aware that they would be far and in between, but there cant possibly be literally zero. Thanks
(ps. I mean, a black-native-african philosopher, not a french philosopher that was speculated to be 1/8 black etc)

i am excluding modern philosophers because every modern philosopher has had exposure to european and asian philosophy, and thus is merely a conglomeration. I am looking for the black Confucius, or the black Plato.

Perhaps it's like women! There are so few woman philosophers because, perhaps, they have been kept from the inner good-old-boy network! Women weren't allowed to be smarter than the stupidest man! Not trained to think for themselves, to do as told! Hence the 'old boy' roster is sans women, blacks, lots of people!
The spew from academia gets to write the 'roster', and blackball who they will. Most of the academic spew are philosophologists, at best! Peer review my asss! *__-

"Philosophy" itself is a European-created category. Other societies have similar activities but they are not part of the same discourse (until modern times, but you're excluding modern times from your racist question).
