You forget however, that for many women, the female pill can also have many bonuses by regulating their periods and making them less severe. In fact that's why many women start taking the pill, not for birth control.

Condoms are of course very inexpensive, prevent STDs in way neither a male or female birth control pill can and their proper use can be verified by both parties.

This is precisely why some feminists have argued against the male pill and why they want so strongly for the female pill to be the accepted norm, and not condoms, even though condoms do a much better job at preventing STDs - They want the control....Show more

Are you kidding? I'd take it in a second. If a male depo shot became available, I'd switch to that. I'd continue taking it until some male version of an IUD came out. And I'd STILL use the condom and spermicide that I use now. If I keep my fingers crossed, maybe someone will invent a non-hormonal copper implant that I can get and never have to worry again.

I like sex a lot. If I could take a burden off of my partner and make the experience more pleasant for her as a result, that's a no-brainer....Show more

No. Condoms are easy to use, inexpensive, and "on demand." I can't remember to take a daily vitamin.
