Is it okay write down and read what you are going to say to a judge in court?

I have bad talking anxiety. The thoughts are in my head buy Icant manage to spit them out...going to traffic court today for something im completely guilty of. i wrote down what i want to say but would i be allowed to read from it ?

Yes, you can. Many people are nervous in court, so the judge has seen that before.

The problem is reading off a paper does not come off as sincere. You will be more sincere is you make brief notes about the points you want to make, and to look at the judge while you are explaining those points.

Sure, why not - but expect to also answer questions from the judge. Make sure that you are sincere and apologetic, because reading from a written page can sound rote and unfeeling. It's fine to use notes so you have your story in order, but you still must face the court and apologize. A lawyer might also tell you to stick to the facts, and let the court decide. There may have been other circumstances of which you are not aware.
