Are you wanting to KEEP them? Since they're wild they wouldn't make good pets by any means. They probably have some sort of illness or common disease. And they would most likely be stressed out by being caught then put in a tank with a pump that makes even the slightest of noises. Trust me. I've done this with some perch. Sadly they were short lived, after 2 out of the 3 died I quickly chose to take the lady one back to the creek. He got stressed and died in the car. :( no fun. I'd sudgest releasing them in a pond if you want to see them, if there's a pond near your creek you can put them there. Maybe you'll find more next year too! :)) I like catching fish too but they should be put back.

Ask a local pet store.

If by "i need to know how long i have to let the water sit from now" you mean cycling, then this will greatly help you http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/421488-cycling-your-new-fresh-water-tank-read-this-first/
And, with any aquarium fish, you will need a filter of the right size for your tank. With tropical fish (that live in warmer water temperatures) you will also need a heater of the right size for your tank, and a thermometer to go with it.

I don't know about creek chubsuckers, but I think you should listen to Steve. 10 gallons might not be big enough for various creek chubsuckers. Many fish grow much larger than the size you first get them, and eventually will not fit in a small tank.

What do you mean ? Leaving the water sitting is going to do absolutely nothing and a 10 Gallon is nowhere near enough for them.

I would look on line instead of asking people. For now I would consider putting them back In the water where you caught them.
